Great Lakes Folklore

Great Lakes Folklore is an independent organization dedicated to strengthening and enriching folkloric dance in the Midwest of the United States through courses, workshops, competitions, huateques, and educational programs designed for teachers, directors, choreographers, and students.

Our work focuses on expanding the technical, artistic, and cultural knowledge of participants by providing tools that can be applied within their own groups and communities. We serve as a platform for cultural exchange, artistic development, and academic growth, promoting excellence, the preservation of traditions, and the responsible evolution of folkloric arts.

We strive to build a strong network of leaders and organizations committed to advancing and sustaining folkloric dance, positively impacting future generations while keeping our cultural roots alive.
